When I did my annual look back/look forward discussion with Andrew McConnell in January, little did we know what was in store.

A Politico article at the end of 2018 was titled, "What a Decade This Year Has Been", and I think that’s been topped by the past 6 months that seems as if we’ve seen 10 years of events. Andrew suggested this might be a good time to review what’s happened since we last spoke and consider how the world of vacation rental has changed.

While I have been in the thick of it as a property manager living in my micro-world of rural Ontario, Andrew has been seeing it from a more global perspective across the US.

We talk about the impact COVID-19 has had on the business as a whole, the remarkable recovery as lockdowns and restrictions were lifted, and what we can take forward from this mess while we still don’t know what the future holds.
